The New TAE40116 - What does this mean for you?

Important information about the TAE40116

Enrolments for the TAE40110 Certificate IV Training and Assessment with our organisation have ended with no further public courses scheduled beyond 10 June 2017 due the teach-out period for completion. The TAE40116 is the way forward for anyone seeking to gain their TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment after 5 October 2017.

Get in touch now to register your interest in the TAE40116.

Carson Australasia Pty Ltd has applied to include the TAE40116 on its scope. Approval from the national regulator, ASQA, to program the TAE40116 is pending.

Please note that anyone holding the TAE40110 still complies with The Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.

Untangling what the changes mean:

The training packaging rules have changed, currently the rules for the TAE40110 are 7 core and 3 electives. The new TAE40116 have 9 core and only 1 elective. https://training.gov.au/Training/Details/TAE40116

In a nutshell the principle changes are:

Do I have to upgrade to the TAE40116 if I hold the TAE40110?

No.

The TAE40110 still meets the requirements of the Standards for RTO’s 2015, (Standards 1.14, 1.15 schedule 1) where any Trainer and Assessor must hold the TAE40110 or it’s successor. Until such time as the Standards are amended the current TAE40110 remains the minimum standard for anyone delivering and assessing vocational or accredited training.

The Carson Australasia office will advise all our TAE40110 graduates should the requirement to upgrade change in the future and will offer a smooth transition from the TAE40110 to the TAE40116.

For TAE Registered Training Organisations RTOs

As a Registered Training Organisation RTO, Carson Australasia has applied to the national regulator, ASQA, to include the TAE40116 on its scope. The application and approval process through ASQA is considerable and lengthy; as such, pending successful approval of our application, we are unable to provide a definitive timeframe for our TAE40116 roll-out.

What does this mean if I currently hold the TAE40110?

Absolutely nothing – at this stage!

The TAE40110 remains fully compliant. Pending approval of the TAE40116 on our scope, options to upgrade will be made available.

How long will the full TAE40116 take to complete?

Carson Australasia's TAE40116 Corporate Combination Program will consist of at least 13 to 15 face-to-face training days to be completed over a duration of approximately 5 months, plus a post-course project. It is planned to have 4 weeks in between sessions to reinforce learning, to ensure learners have practical experience, and to be able to complete on-the-job assessment tasks.

Will the TAE40116 be more expensive?

The time and cost to RTOs to deliver and assess this new qualification will rise proportionately to cover the new units, longer training duration, new learning clusters, and on-the job project and assessment requirements.
